Build a strong structure through core engagement (bandha), focused gaze (drishti) and breath control (pranayama). These are foundational yoga techniques you can bring to your everyday yoga class that will support the evolution of your practice. These techniques are important for transitioning from one pose to the next in a vinyasa flow and for practicing arm balances. We will go through many drills and movement patterns to assist you after we part. Ahmed says, "may the force be with you."

Flight School

Do you struggle with your inversions? What is an inversion? When your head is below your heart. Step out of your comfort zone and let this series support you to get where you want to go. I will focus on drills for assisted headstand, forearm stand and handstand. Learn how to fall so the FEAR of flying will let go. Remember that nothing great happens inside your comfort zone.

Floating in Session

Build on your already strong foundation. Learn how to float through Tristana. Tristana is a beautiful combination of Bandha, Pranayama and Drishti. As you focus on Tristana the practice starts to change. Learn specific preparatory techniques (check-ups) for yoga postures such as Crow, One-Legged Crow, Peacock, Side-Crow, One-Legged Sage, Flying Splits, Eight Angled Pose and Fire-fly. Be ready to laugh a lot!! 

Rocket 1

The Rocket I class is based on the Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Focused on balance, stability, mobility, surrender and strength, this sequence opens the body from the ground up. Advanced classes are ideal for the regular practitioner or for those ready to commit to their practice. The pace is demanding and the instruction is less extensive than an All Levels class. You will practice inversions in this class, including handstands and forearm stands. Each class begins with sun salutations, progresses through a standing sequence building energy for the seated sequence, and closes with the Ashtanga finishing sequence. Familiarity with sun salutations and finishing postures is ideal, but not essential.

Rocket HAPPY HOUR

 *90 Minutes - “Two for one special”. Rocket Happy Hour is a 90 minute combination of the Rocket 1 and Rocket 2 routines, rooted in the Ashtanga yoga method, and sequenced by Larry Schultz. Prepare and open the body systematically to try the energetic arm balances and inversions sprinkled throughout the sequences, including options to create a practice that feels good and safe for your body. Enjoy energetic playlists and supportive environment to grow your practice, but the the same great community vibe every time.

Acro Yoga Workshop w/Elyse & Ahmed

Join Ahmed and Elyse for a two-hour workshop focused on finding strength through the support of others. The workshop will begin with an exploration of partner yoga techniques that will build trust and communications. You'll learn the fundamentals of acro yoga with opportunities to practice basing, flying, and spotting. We will finish off the workshop with exploring Thai Massage techniques to relax the body and mind through massage techniques, acupressure points, and light yoga stretches. Grab a friend or significant other and join us.

Come with some fun ideas and let’s have a funky good time. You can bring your own partner or gain a new friend in the process.

I will be breaking down sirsasana 2, adho mukha vrksasana and pincha mayurasana.  I will teach techniques to help enter these inversions properly and safely as well as how to build strength to enhance your inversion practice.
